FAQs

How long is each session?

Coaching sessions are generally 50 minutes to an hour. Longer sessions are available by arrangement.

Do you accept international clients?

Yes! As a coach I'm able to accept clients from anywhere in the world.

What time zone are you operating from?

I am based in Sydney, Australia, which is Australian Eastern Time. Use a time zone converter app to work out what that is in your time zone.

What is the fee in my currency?

Please use xe.com or similar to work out the fee in your currency. I accept payment online and the exchange is calculated automatically at time of payment.

How often do you recommend that I have coaching sessions?

When getting started, I recommend meeting weekly for 8 weeks and then reviewing. If weekly is not possible, fortnightly can be arranged. At the beginning, it's a good idea to meet more frequently to create traction and progress. I am also open to other arrangements after we've chatted about your needs and determined this will work best for you.

Are you a Christian coach?

This is actually a tricky question as it ties in with what ethical coaching is. As a coach, my primary modality is to support where you're at. An ICF coach "demonstrates respect for the client’s identity, perceptions, style and language and adapts one’s coaching to the client" (Core Competency 4.2).

However, my Christian faith is an integral part of how I do life and identify myself. If you are looking for faith-based support, we can talk about how I can support you well in this area.

Do you do therapeutic disclosures?

Yes, I am able to support a betrayed partner in the disclosure process. The discloser will need his own guide.

Don't I need therapy if I'm traumatised?

Well, it depends. The essence of trauma is loss of safety and agency. Coaching makes a way for both of these to be experienced and grow. It actually gives you tools to make your own choices and in the very action of choosing you get to feel stronger and clearer. If you notice that you are stuck in patterns that aren't shifting or that your trauma symptoms do not abate, therapy can provide additional support and help.

If I join a group, won't it be too upsetting to hear everyone telling stories of their pain?

My groups are carefully structured to provide safety through

  • confidentiality

  • judgment-free zone

  • no comparing stories

  • avoiding graphic detail

  • no advice giving

  • using the timer if needed

  • tools for down-regulating

  • encouragement to care for yourself if you are triggered.

You get to be you and your story gets to be what it is. You get to create healing connection with others on a similar journey.
